Generator For 3-Cabin Model

Has anyone installed a diesel generator (6-KW +) in a 42' 3-cabin model. Linda and I would like to have one installed to run our A/C (and curling iron..etc.) needs in our 1999 model. The lazerette does not appear to be an option, due to space and/or service requirements that may crop up. We have been informed that we may have to convert one of the aft staterooms to accomodate a generator.

Also, has anyone installed an auxillary tank forward of the private shower. I am concerned with adding so much weight to the stern, which is already heavy from the A/C units and a dinghy.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
